Custom Frameworks

A custom framework is an assessment your organization writes: four dimensions, twelve principles, and 120 questions. After you lock it, your organization can run it the same way it runs Morality, Security, Virtue, and Ethics.

Enterprise required to create a framework

Creating and publishing your own framework needs an Enterprise plan. Owner and Admin can publish. Developer can write the draft and cannot publish. Compliance and Viewer can run a framework the organization already published. They cannot open the builder.

1. Open Frameworks

Sign in. In the sidebar, open Frameworks (/frameworks). The list is three groups: My drafts, Org frameworks, and Installed from marketplace.

A card with a LOCKED badge is frozen. A private card can be run only by the author. An org card can be run by members of this organization. A marketplace install marked Run only has no Open — you can assess with it, and you cannot edit it. That case is covered on Marketplace.

2. Start a new framework

Top right, choose New instrument. The hub has two cards.

  • Create and continue — display name, optional description, industry, optional segment, and visibility. Start with Private until the draft is ready to share.
  • Edit existing — pick a framework you authored, then a version. An unpublished draft opens in place. A locked version creates a new draft with a minor version bump. The locked version does not change.

On the wizard Start step you can download the example workbook or Import Excel. Choosing a file replaces the current draft immediately. There is no confirm, and it cannot be undone. Import is only on Start.

3. Fill the eight steps

Work the stepper in order. Save as you go. The display name you write on Identity is the name that later appears in assessment dropdowns, so write the name you want operators to see.

  1. Identity — display name, description, industry, optional segment, visibility. A private draft can use Share with org when teammates should see it. There is no Suggest on this step. Later Suggest steps read this identity.
  2. Dimensions — four axes: Top, Right, Bottom, Left. Each needs a key, display name, what it measures, why this framework needs it, a color, and both poles (failure at 0, target at 10). Empty poles block Publish.
  3. Archetypes — four corners. One is the Target (the correct-answer personality). The other three are Foil corners.
  4. Principles — twelve principles, three per dimension (Center, Left, Right). Short name, full text, and rationale. These drive the questions.
  5. Questions — 120 items, ten on each of twelve principle tabs. Each item is a scenario with answers A–D, labeled Wrong, Misguided, Deceptive, or Target.
  6. Review — read-only packet. Run the completeness check. Gaps show as n/10. Export Excel or Download PDF. There is no Excel import on Review. Use the stepper to go back and edit.
  7. Publish — covered in the next section.
  8. Attest — optional Ethereum fingerprint of the locked bank. Skip leaves it optional. Wallet setup is in Framework Setup.

On Dimensions, Archetypes, Principles, and Questions you can use Suggest. Pick a provider and model. The page uses the key already saved in Settings for that provider. After Suggest, run a second pass with a different provider and apply the useful edits yourself. Suggest does not do that second pass.

4. Lock it and choose who can run it

Publish freezes this version. Owner and Admin can click it. Developer cannot. After the freeze, pick one destination:

  • Personal — only you can run this version. Owners and admins can still open it in Frameworks. Teammates cannot run it until you choose Organization or Marketplace.
  • Organization — members of your organization can run it. This is the destination when the framework is for your own assessments and you are not listing it for other companies.
  • Submit to marketplace — sends the locked version for platform review. Other organizations see it only after it is published. Your own organization can still run it. The listing steps are on Marketplace.

If the destination step fails after the freeze, the lock stays. Set the destination again. To change questions later, use Create new version. That opens a new draft. The locked version stays as it was.

5. Run it

After Organization (or a Personal publish, for the author), the locked display name appears next to Morality, Security, Virtue, and Ethics. Another organization does not see this bank unless they install it from the Marketplace.

Check each place your team starts an assessment:

  1. Quick Assessment (/assessment) — the framework dropdown includes the locked custom name. Pick it, pick the model, and run.
  2. Trials (/trials) — the same name is in the framework list for a trial.
  3. Compliance (/compliance) — Add Assessment, then choose the custom framework on the schedule.
  4. Quick Evaluation (/evaluation) — the same name is in the framework list.

A finished run shows in History like any other assessment. The verify page is for that run. It is not a claim about the framework's safety.

6. What not to expect

  • A draft does not appear in those dropdowns. Only a locked version with a destination does.
  • Personal does not put the framework on a teammate's dropdown.
  • Publishing to your organization does not put the framework on the Marketplace. That is a separate submit, and it waits for review.
  • Editing a locked version in place is not available. Create a new version, then publish that version when it is ready.
